Nine Years Ago Today!
Nine years ago today, I became a published author when my first novel, The Custom of the Trade, was published by Endeavour Media (now Joffe Books). The book combines the story early submarine operations in WW1 and the battle of the Suffragettes to gain the vote. It went on, briefly, to be a global best-seller on Amazon and to date has over 800 reviews, averaging 4.4 stars.
I have since had four other novels in my WW1, For Those in Peril, series published and I have branched out into a series of WW2 stories. The, Death to Touch, series of three novels and one novelette once again combine two stories. The first is that of the Royal Navy teams on Britain’s streets facing long odds to render safe German magnetic and acoustic mines dropped by parachute. The other tale outlines the efforts of the Admiralty to learn the secrets of Hitler’s secret underwater weapons, including the operations of Ian Fleming’s intelligence commandos, later to be named 30 Assault Unit. The last two stories in the series will be published on 16 and 17 October.
My writing career is, however, not yet over and I have several other ideas for new stories in mind to keep me writing for a few more years yet. The continuing theme will generally be to promote the stories of unsung heroes and the lesser-known activities of the Royal Navy. I thank my readers and followers for their generous support to date.
